Well, my family & I have been attending this church for a while. I believe we've attended the church at least 15 times. The staff seem to be very friendly... but nobody in the congregation initiates new relationships to meet people. My family & I don't know ONE person that goes there "by name" not even the staff. So, although the teaching is decent & biblical... the fellowship lacks quite a bit. :-(

My family & I have even attended 2 fellowship lunches & a 'new membership class' they've had after the worship service... and outside of the membership class' volunteers who were told to give us a survey... nobody came up to say hello or introduce themselves. We don't even know the couple that did the membership class. Never saw them again. I find that a little odd & sad.

It's sad cause we've moved from another country on the other side of the world & really feel the need to connect with other believers who think like us, but still have not. It breaks my heart. Man, I miss my old church in Australia.

But to each his own. Maybe things will change? :P

  • My wife and I have been attending here for 2 years and we absolutely love our church family. The church has many opportunities to get connected with others in similar stages of life. Attending a life group/small group Bible study made such a difference in our lives. We tried a few groups before finding one that was a perfect fit and now talk to eachother regularly (not only in or about church).

Most importantly, the teaching and preaching is sound, biblical and down to earth, and the pastor challenges us weekly. I definitely recommend spending a Sunday at Aloma Church (or multiple Sundays) to experience the love and community of God and the people for yourself.

  • If you are looking for a church that feels like home, then Aloma Church is the church for you! Friendly faces, amazing worship, and relevant, Bible-honoring sermons are what you will experience on a weekly basis. It is a beautiful facility filled with loving members who seek to bring honor and glory to God while building relationships with each other and the community. It's an easy church to plug into with a plethora of life groups and ministries available.

  • I love the fellowship at this church! Coming down to Florida for college was a difficult and testing challenge, and the members I met at Aloma Church welcomed me with open arms. There's a great young adult group here, as well as great opportunities to get involved in the church! Thank you Aloma Church congregation and staff for helping me strengthen my relationship with God and keep me motivated in the faith!

  • My wife and I have become members here for several reasons. First, people were friendly from the beginning but you really have to connect with a Life Group to make true friends. We tried two groups, then we found one that was perfect for us. So be sure to try more than one if the first group doesn't click. They are some groups age related and a few that are deeper Bible study and age is not a concern.

Second, Wes is a very sound Biblical doctrine teacher and wants all of Aloma to realize we must be more like the church in Acts. Jesus calls us to be witness's to His Gospel, not bench warmers in the pews.

Lastly, this year has an increased focus on getting the church out into the community. There will be plenty of opportunities to meet people and help them find the spiritual peace that Jesus can bring.

Like anything in life, you only get out of it what you put into it. I believe if you seek connections you will make plenty of new friends, I know we have already.
